Cookie Preferences

Reading note. This page explains how to manage cookies on Tirvea. Today, because only strictly-necessary cookies are set, the primary control is your browser; an in-product preference tool is being finalised and is flagged as such.

1. Purpose

Purpose. To explain how you can review and change your cookie choices on Tirvea, which categories of cookies we recognise, and how to manage them. The full list of cookies we use is in the Cookie Policy (/legal/cookies).

2. Scope

Purpose. To state what this page covers. It covers how to manage cookies and similar technologies. It does not restate the cookie inventory or durations (Cookie Policy, /legal/cookies) or how associated personal data is processed (Privacy Policy, /legal/privacy).

Purpose. To describe the categories we recognise: Essential (required to run the Service), Functional (remember your choices), Analytics (understand and improve the Service), and Marketing (advertising). Today we set only Essential cookies, and store one Functional preference in local storage; we do not use Analytics or Marketing cookies.

4. Essential Cookies

Purpose. Cookies without which the Service cannot function. These are always on and cannot be switched off through a preference tool; you can still block them in your browser, but the Service may then not work. On Tirvea they are: Supabase authentication cookies (keep you signed in), a device security identifier (tirvea_did, for fraud prevention), and Stripe cookies during checkout (payment-fraud prevention). These are exempt from consent under ePrivacy rules. See the Cookie Policy (/legal/cookies).

5. Functional Cookies

Purpose. Technologies that remember your choices. On Tirvea, your appearance (theme) preference is stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) and, when you are signed in, also saved to your account. We do not currently set other functional cookies. You can change the theme in the Service or clear your browser storage.

6. Analytics Cookies

Purpose. Cookies that would help us understand how the Service is used. We do not currently use analytics cookies, and no analytics service is integrated. If we introduce analytics in future, we will set non-essential analytics cookies only with your prior consent, and update this page and the Cookie Policy (/legal/cookies) first.

7. Marketing Cookies

Purpose. Cookies that would deliver or measure advertising. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not use social-media or advertising pixels. If we ever introduce them, we will do so only with your prior consent.

8. Managing Preferences

Purpose. To explain how to manage your cookies today. Because only strictly-necessary cookies are set (and a functional preference in local storage), the primary way to manage cookies today is through your browser controls (§9). An in-product Cookie Preferences tool, which will let you accept or decline non-essential categories, is being finalised (§13). Essential cookies will always be on because the Service cannot function without them.

9. Browser Controls

Purpose. To explain device-level controls. Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies and clear local storage in their settings, and can alert you when a site sets a cookie. Blocking essential cookies will prevent parts of the Service from working - for example, you may be unable to stay signed in or complete a payment. Clearing the tirvea:appearance local-storage key resets your theme. Browser controls are provided by your browser, not by us.

Purpose. To explain the consent position. Non-essential cookies are set only with your prior, specific, informed, and freely given consent, in line with the GDPR and ePrivacy rules. Today we set only strictly-necessary cookies, so no consent is currently required. The consent controls described here are therefore forward-looking. The cookie consent-version framework is declared but not yet wired into the runtime, so no cookie-consent state is currently stored (an implementation gap). [Legal review required before publication - confirm the consent design and wire the cookie consent-version before asserting a live consent gate.]

Purpose. To explain how to withdraw consent. Where you have consented to non-essential cookies, you may withdraw that consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. Today, because no non-essential cookies are set, withdrawal is achieved through your browser controls (§9); once the preference tool is available, you will be able to withdraw there. Withdrawal does not affect strictly-necessary cookies. Withdrawal of biometric (face) consent is a separate matter handled in privacy settings (Biometric Information Policy, /legal/biometric-data).

12. Third-Party Cookies

Purpose. To explain third-party cookies. The only third-party cookies are Stripe's, set during checkout for payment-fraud prevention. We do not permit third parties to set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies through the Service. See the Cookie Policy §16 (/legal/cookies).

13. Current Status of the Preference Tool

Purpose. To be transparent about the tool. An in-product Cookie Preferences control is not yet available. Until it is, manage cookies through your browser (§9). We will enable the preference tool before introducing any non-essential cookie, and we will update this page when it is live. 14. Updates

Purpose. To explain how this page changes. We update this page to reflect changes in the cookies we use or the controls we offer - in particular before introducing any non-essential cookie or enabling the preference tool. We update the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, seek renewed consent where required.
